- Hello All.
- I'm trying get some focus in my programming and my future plans. Any assistance
- would be **VERY** appreciated.
- I basically have two questions.
- First, some background info:
- I've been programming since I was eight (BASIC and Commodore BASIC in the
- beginning. I learned C and C++ three years ago in DOS. I've slowly taught
- myself how to program in Windows (Win16), and recently, a bit of UNIX. Also,
- I learned some Assembley. Last summer, I used most of this when I completely
- wrote a program for realtime data acquisition off a radiometer using an analog
- to digital converter at a rate of 1 Khz. I ended up writing a Virtual Device
- Driver, a Device Driver, and a full blown OWL 2.0 application. Now, I'm using
- Win95 (but I don't have a Win95 compiler) and I have been using Linux on and off
- for the last two years (and I like it a lot). Well, I'm 16 now.
-
- Enough with the info, on with the questions:
- 1. Which OS should I go for, UNIX or Win95?
- 2. Are there any ways for me to make a good amount of money using my talents
- now? That programming I did last summer payed about eight bucks an hour, six
- after taxes, and most of that paying for my overpriced car insurance.
-
- THANK YOU!!! for any advice. I really need some guidance here so please try
- and respond if at all possible. You'll help out one really confused kid.
